He is joining WE in 5 days!!

You guessed it ... Rexon is the next WE presenter. His first drive will be on the 7th August 2007. WE and Rex are super excited that he is joining us.
Rex was born at Djuma and his grandfather is buried here. Djuma is in his blood, he knows the land backwards. Each bump in the road or scar on a tree has a history that Rex remembers. Not only is he a highly accomplished guide but also a very respected leader of the community. Rex is also just as good behind the camera as in front and in fact has wielded a LIVE camera for us many times in the past ... from time to time he will give Rob a break and 'drive' the camera for Pieter.
WE are immensely grateful to Jurie and Pippa, as well as all the management at Djuma, for encouraging Rexon to join WildEarth ... WE know that he will be sorely missed. He is a man of great wisdom and empathy and WE are honoured that he is one of us. Rex, you are ... in our nature. Good luck.

I really enjoyed Rexon's earlier drive on WE. He has a special knowledge to share that will enrich our experiences. I am really looking forward to seeing him on a regular basis.

Warm Welcome Rexon - I am so grateful to hear the rumours confirmed that you will be joining the WE Group. As a new cammer here - your reputation precedes you and I am very honored that I will have the chance to learn from the wise man Rexon !!

I saw Rexon do his test drive, and he had some very interesting things to say. Unfortunately, he is very difficult for American ears to understand. Nick wasn't always easy to understand, either. Pieter seems to be the best at speaking clearly to us foreigners---no trouble understanding him.

I wonder if people in Europe are having the same problem?

8-7-07 - Watching Rexon's first official game drive for WildEarth and loving it! I feel as if I'm visiting with an old friend as I remember well the early days of Africam when he was such a key figure there. Welcome Rex! You are a wealth of good information!

Rexon,
I truly enjoyed riding along with you and Pieter today. WE has gained a "treasure" with you joining the team.
I look forward to joining you again in your Cyber Classroom.

Warmest Welcome to you moving over to WE Camp. I'm sure the Djuma Team will miss you there, but you haven't gone far... as "it's in your nature".

I am enjoying the am drive with Rexon today, which is the first drive I have been able to get on for over a fortnight. Thank you for taking the time to explain about hyena's when we stopped at the den. First rate Rexon and I learned a lot from you.

Please, Wild Earth, take Rexson off the drive! I can't listen to him--there's no doubt he has a lot of knowledge of the land and animals, but he has NOT got a good on-air personality. He is hard to understand and he goes on and on, not knowing when to quit and go on to the next thing. Just because someone is good at one thing does not mean they can do something else. Maybe Rexson is good in person on a game drive, but not on a broadcast.

I don't know what things are like in South Africa right now, but I definitely get the impression that Rexson was hired by WE for political reasons. You need to come up with a way to use his experience and knowledge more effectively. Narrating a game drive is not it.

I have no problem understanding Rexon, and I, too, am an American. I enjoy his insight into the plant life and the important role it plays in the survival of the various species.

He just started this job, guys. Give him a break. I think he's improving with each drive.
